i officially began my journey on November 18, 2006. I got another set of braids right after i took out my August braids, and thus started my stretching periods. I stretched for 9 months, from the time of my high school graduation until April 4, 2007. I’m very patient, so stretching comes very easily to me. And my hair obviously loves it! From April 4, 2007 until April 4, 2009, i did 4 consecutive 6 month stretches. I started from neck length after the trim on April 2007, and ended up APL on …

Usually box braids are larger than micros. Box braids are also usually braided all the way to the end of the hair, whereas micros extend to just beyond your natural hair. One other thing is that micros are usually done using human hair and box braids are done with synthetic hair. Notice I am saying "usually" because there are always exceptions to every rule.

Yea, hair that reaches the middle of your back is referred to as “mid back length” or MBL for abbreviation. Waist length is referred to as WL.

Its probably going to take about 4 or five hours and look at a wallgreens or rite aid or a hair store for a hair wrap i suggest the satin ones when you are wearing braids and it would probably take 2 or three hours to take them out.

Gosh, im getting my hair relaxed this wednesday for the first time im so excited but trying to get tips on how to keep it healthy and undamaged atm lol… your hair is stunning btw hun xD

@emogenet…Thank you!! Since you’re natural right now, your hair should be very strong and thick. Once you relax it, people will think you’re wearing a weave because your hair is gonna look very healthy. If you want to keep it healthy and at its best, just make sure you wash it once a week, moisturize and seal twice a day, protect the ends and get rid of any split ends, deep conditioning will be your best friend. Protein is also a must. Remember to stretch relaxers! Congrats on your relaxer!

Ok, well I'm getting box braids done tomorrow and I've had them done in the past.
Since your doing it yourself, it depends…I have mine done by a professional and it can range from 6 hours (usually the minimum) to even 12. Depends on how much hair and how small or big your braid them.

@kookie2100i…when i say bra strap length that means the part of my bra where i connect it together. I strongly believe i will be waistlength in less than 3 years lol..but my main objective is mid-back length. You’re right, when you’re natural, your hair doesnt fall out that much and when you’re relaxed it sort of does. I just make sure im eating right and taking my multivitamins to stop that from happening. Any ways you shed 100 strands of hair a day anyways regardless natural or relaxed.

and why is your face covered up?

I think that box braids would look better, because (no offense) in my opinion dreadlocks are NASTY!!! =)

I suggest micro braids because they can be in for a long time. depending how tight, they could break your hair. But if you care for it well (moisturizing, etc) it shouldn't be too bad.

@kookie2100i…my face is covered up because im a little camera shy and plus in some of these pics im making funny faces lol..in my other videos you can still see my face im just shy..my channel is about my hair and my hair only…people only need to see that, not my face. I am still thinking about doing live videos showing my face though so stay tuned.

IF YOU HAD HUMAN HAIR YOU COULD HAVE DYED THE HAIR BEFORE YOU PUT THEM IN. bUT IF YOU HAVE SYNTHETIC HAIR I DONT THINK THE DYE THINHG WILL WORK UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BALD WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OUT!!!
